How We Came About
When We Becomes Me began when one woman, who had a heart for service, invited a small group of ladies for coffee to discuss how they could be better servants of the Lord in ministering to the community. She especially wanted to include women who had lost their husbands to death and were struggling to find a purpose in life once more. With
When We Becomes Me began when one woman, who had a heart for service, invited a small group of ladies for coffee to discuss how they could be better servants of the Lord in ministering to the community. She especially wanted to include women who had lost their husbands to death and were struggling to find a purpose in life once more. Within that small group were two recently widowed ladies who shared their belief that before widows could be of much benefit in helping others, they needed support themselves and a means to heal. That first meeting of friends over coffee ended up being mostly a sharing of hearts and hurts, as those two ladies retold their life stories.
From that initial meeting, which lasted for hours, the seed was planted as to how they could better serve our grieving wives in the community (James 1:27). Many hours, much prayer, several planning sessions...and let's face it, much coffee later, When We Becomes Me was born.

On October 1, 2014 Jesus stopped by with a notification that the love of my life's room was ready. This was the most difficult test I would ever face. The very one who could still after all these years cause my heart to skip a beat, no longer had a beat. I was completely certain I would fail this test, marked widow, but with God, friends, and lots of prayer, I'm being restored. My test, now a testimony of life, love, and death as I share my story for God's glory.”

Today, with the birth of "When We Becomes Me", I know the Lord has breathed life into that seed and beautiful fruit will spring forth with a heavenly harvest that will glorify our Savior.
